Untitled (Copper) – 2018
Etched copper folio with AquaTint, Inked
300×30,5 cm
This piece marks the beginning of a material research on translating the printmaking technique into medium of sculpture. It is an experimentation of technical knowledge and aims to test the resistance of copper. This three meters long copper folio was etched in Aqua Tint technique and it was inked freshly to be installed alone in the space. In its sound stillness, the matrix, with its two ends bent inwards, accommodates the possibility of inward/outward motion as well as the image ready to be printed or fixed on paper. As the shinny backside of the copper alleviates from the ground and reflects the light, the artist also starts moving between different fields of mediums for artistic production.
